David Kerslake is the Electoral Commissioner for Western Australia.
He previously served as the Electoral Commissioner for Queensland, and has considerable experience in the conduct of parliamentary and local government elections, as well as electoral distributions.
His electoral experience also includes a period as Assistant Commissioner with the Australian Electoral Commission where his responsibilities included oversight of the national industrial elections program.
David also has high level management experience in other independent statutory roles, as Health Rights Commissioner for Queensland and Director of Western Australia’s Office of Health Review.
Having lived and worked in Western Australia previously, David is keen to advance the work of the Western Australian Electoral Commission in collaboration with its experienced electoral team. As a former college teacher, he also has a keen interest in the Commission’s Electoral Education Centre and its role in maximising interest by young people in our electoral processes.
