Annual returns for the 2020–2021 financial year, required to be lodged by 30 November each year, have now been published. They can now be viewed on the Annual Returns page of the Electoral Commission’s website.
The disclosure of political donations is an important legislative requirement, enabling the public to see how much money has been given to political parties and their associated entities, when and by whom. Annual returns for the 2020–2021 financial year, which includes the 2021 State General Election, have been lodged by 23 political parties and 7 associated entities. A total of $27,091,913.47 in gifts and other income was disclosed in the returns by these political parties and their associated entities.
