Thursday 6 February 2025: Nominations open for candidates and parties

Wednesday 12 February 2025 (12pm): Nominations close for parties

Thursday 13 February 2025 (12pm): Nominations close for non-party candidates and groups

State Government nominations 

Candidates may nominate for the Legislative Council or the Legislative Assembly after a writ for a State election is issued, up until the close of nominations. For more information, see Nominations.

The Commission provides assistance to candidates but is unable to provide legal advice.

Ballot papers

Ballot paper details are published following the close of nominations.

The ballot draw for the Legislative Assembly will be held at the designated place of declaration of nominations as soon as practicable after the close of nominations, which will occur at 12pm on Thursday 13 February 2025.

It is anticipated that the ballot draw for the Legislative Council will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday 13 February 2025. This is subject to the processing of all nominations being complete. If we are unable to conduct the ballot draw on Thursday, the ballot draw will be at 9:00am on Friday 14 February 2025.

The location for the Legislative Council ballot draw is the Northbridge Centre, 30 Beaufort Street, Perth. The Northbridge Centre will also be the venue of the recount of all Legislative Council ballot papers after election day.
