Nomination processes
State Government
Candidates may nominate for the Legislative Council or the Legislative Assembly after a writ for a State election is issued, up until the close of nominations. For more information, see Nominations.

Candidate Guides are Commission publications designed to assist candidates and registered political parties in understanding how the State election process works, from nominating through to counting the votes and declaring a result. They also outline the responsibilities of candidates throughout the election to comply with electoral legislation. The Commission aims to provide assistance to candidates, but is unable to provide legal advice.
