Update on Technology Assisted Voting Request for Information (RFI) Release

The Western Australian Electoral Commission (‘Commission’) released a Request for Information (RFI) in December 2021 - seeking to engage with industry to ascertain the availability, suitability and viability of a Technology Assisted Voting solution for its range of electoral services undertaken.

Following the RFI closure (February 2022), the Commission appointed an internal Steering Committee to commence assessment of all RFI responses.

The first stage of this process is soon to be concluded. Following this, the Commission will be undertaking a series of internal workshops to further assess and qualify its requirements for any prospective Technology Assisted Voting solution. This may or may not entail requests for Respondent presentations.

At this stage the Commission is planning to continue working towards the development of a Technology Assisted Voting procurement strategy including the release of a Request for Proposal / Quotation scheduled for late 2022.

The Commission intends to further communicate to all RFI Respondents throughout this process, including further details and any timeframe updates on any subsequent procurement activity.
