The Western Australian Electoral Commission is hiring thousands of people to work at the upcoming State Election in March.
These essential short-term roles offer a special opportunity to work on this major event, from working across early voting or at a polling place on election day to being involved in vote processing and counting.
“Western Australia is heading to the polls on Saturday 8 March and this is your chance to be part of something big,” WA Electoral Commissioner Robert Kennedy said.
“We’re looking for people across Western Australia of all ages and backgrounds to work at the State Election. With a range of roles to suit your schedule, this is a unique and exciting opportunity to gain new skills and experiences.”
Jobs are available across metropolitan, regional and remote WA. Pay rates range from $29 to $70 per hour depending on the role. Previous experience is not necessary as all training is provided.
Anyone with valid working rights in Australia can work at the election. You don’t need to be an Australian citizen. Workers do need to be politically neutral and declare that you’re not a member of a political party or closely associated with a candidate.
“It’s a huge privilege to offer job opportunities to thousands of Western Australians during the State Election period,” Mr Kennedy said.
“By working at the State Election, you will be an integral part of providing essential election services to our community and help to deliver this huge event for Western Australians.”
