The Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) has published the annual returns for the 2024–25 financial year.
The disclosure of political contributions is a key element of electoral transparency, ensuring the public can see how much has been provided to political parties and associated entities.
For the 2024–2025 reporting period, annual returns were lodged by 21 political parties and eight associated entities disclosing total of $15,143,075.87 in gifts and other income.
All political parties and associated entities are required to lodge their annual returns with the WAEC by 30 November each year.
This financial year, for the first time, political entities including political parties, candidates, groups and third-party campaigners were required to maintain a state campaign account for electoral expenditure. Entities with a state campaign account are required to submit an annual return detailing all funds paid into and payments made through that account by 30 November each year.
The submitted annual returns are now available on the WAEC website at elections.wa.gov.au
