Early polling for the Secret Harbour By-election will open from 8am on Monday 17 August, giving voters enrolled in the district more flexibility to cast their ballot ahead of polling day.
Voting in the Secret Harbour By-election is compulsory for all eligible voters.
Early polling will be available at the following locations:
7 Sunlight Drive, Port Kennedy - Monday to Saturday, 17 - 28 August from 8am - 6pm
(closed Sunday 23 August)
Level 2, 111 St Georges Terrace, Perth (WA Electoral Commission) - Monday to Friday, 17 - 28 August from 8:30am – 4:30pm (closed Saturday 22 August and Sunday 23 August)
WA Electoral Commissioner Dennis O’Reilly said he encourages voters to explore the many options available to participate in the by-election. To confirm if they’re in for this by-election, voters can check their address on the interactive map available on the WAEC website.
“Early polling, postal voting, and voting on polling day are all available for the Secret Harbour By-election, and we have seen over 5,000 postal vote applications already,” Commissioner O’Reilly said.
“We know people have work, family and other commitments that may make it difficult to vote on polling day. Early polling and postal voting are open to all enrolled voters in the district, with no special reason needed. As voting is compulsory, I encourage Secret Harbour voters to plan ahead and choose the voting option that best suits their circumstances.”
