The Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) has officially declared the results of the Secret Harbour By-election held on 29 August 2026.
Mr Luke Herdegen was declared as the elected candidate by the Returning Officer on Wednesday, 9 September.
This declaration finalises the by-election result and supersedes the indicative result reported on polling night.
Following the full distribution of preferences, Mr Herdegen secured 57.19% of the valid votes cast in the two-candidate preferred count, while Ms Georgia Tree received the remaining 42.81%. The legal instruments (writ and certificate) directing the Electoral Commissioner to conduct the Secret Harbour By-election have been returned to the Speaker today, Wednesday 9 September.
