2026 Secret Harbour By-election

Phone Assisted voting is available for the Secret Harbour By-election from Monday 17 August – 6pm Saturday 29 August (election day).

Phone assisted voting is a secure and convenient way to cast your vote using your telephone keypad and an automated voice system. To keep your vote secret and your information secure, you’ll be identified only by your unique Voting ID and secret PIN. This helps ensure your vote remains completely anonymous.

Phone assisted voting is available to enrolled voters who:  

•    are visually impaired 
•    have some other physical impairment, or 
•    have reading difficulties.  

How to vote by phone

Phone Assisted Voting is a two-stage process:  

Step 1. Register to vote by phone

Call 13 68 00 and select menu option 1.

You will be asked a series of questions to confirm that:

•    you are on the electoral roll and
•    required to vote in this election.

Registration period:

Weekdays only: Monday 17 August – Friday 28 August, 8:00am – 6:00pm. 
Registration closes at 4:00pm on election day, Saturday 29 August.

Step 2. Vote by phone 

Once your registration has been approved, you can vote by phone.

Phone assisted voting is open and available 24 hours until 6pm Saturday 29 August (election day).

When you call to vote, you will need the:

•    PIN you received during the registration process
•    Voting ID you received during the registration process

You will then be guided through the voting process, including the ballot paper details.Use your phone keypad to make your selections.

Once you confirm your selections, your vote will be securely stored in a virtual ballot box.

Voting closes at 6pm on election day Saturday 29 August.
