South Australian electors wishing to vote in the upcoming By-Election for the district of Bragg may cast an early vote at the Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) Offices at Level 2, 111 St Georges Terrace Perth from Wednesday 22 June 2022 until Friday 1 July 2022 during office hours (8.30am to 4.30pm) excluding the weekend of the 24th and 25th of June.

Electors who have completed a postal vote may also hand deliver it to the WAEC during the aforementioned period.

The Federal Election has been called for Saturday, May 21.

South Australian electors wishing to vote in their State Election may cast an early vote at the Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) offices at Level 2, 111 St Georges Terrace, Perth from Tuesday 8 March until Friday 18 March during office hours (8.30am to 4.30pm) excluding the weekend of the 12th and 13th of March.

Electors who have completed a postal vote may also hand deliver it to the WAEC during the aforementioned period. 

Annual returns for the 2020–2021 financial year, required to be lodged by 30 November each year, have now been published.

The Commission will be closed from 2pm on December 24 until Monday January 3.

The Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) is commencing work to explore forthcoming options for Technology Assisted Voting with the release of a Request for Information (RFI) to the marketplace.

We are delighted to share that Courtney Barron has been appointed as Deputy Electoral Commissioner. With over 12 years of public sector experience, she was most recently the Director of Executive Government Services at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet.

Today, the Government has released details of reforms to the Local Government Act 1995.

Of interest to those who follow elections, the reforms include direct election of mayors in the larger local governments, the introduction of preferential voting and rules outlining the number of elected members on any given council - based on the local government population.

Additionally, rules will be tightened to ensure only legitimate businesses or residents are eligible to vote or run for council.
